About Me

I’m a passionate software developer with a passion for building scalable, cross-platform applications that solve meaningful problems. With over a decade of experience, I’ve specialized in using Flutter and Firebase to deliver seamless mobile and web experiences. My backend expertise is built on Node.js Cloud Functions written in TypeScript, allowing me to create efficient, real-time solutions. I thrive in TDD environments and incorporate CI/CD practices with GitHub Actions, ensuring every project I work on is thoroughly tested and production-ready. My work is grounded in the latest technologies, but always with a focus on clean, maintainable architecture.

Portfolio

Throughout my career, I’ve held various senior roles, most recently as a Fractional CTO and Technical Architect. I’ve enjoyed laying the technical foundations for greenfield projects, guiding startups from concept to launch. Whether it’s creating automated timesheet platforms or integrating AI-driven meeting solutions, I bring a visionary yet practical approach to tech leadership. My love for innovation drives me to explore new technologies like AI, but my commitment to robust, secure systems never wavers.

Currently, I’m seeking opportunities as a CTO or Fractional CTO for early-stage projects, where I can provide strategic technical guidance remotely. With a preference for scientific or impactful applications, I’m excited to partner with like-minded startups and help shape their future success. Let’s collaborate to build something that truly matters!

As mobile development continued to evolve, so did my toolset. I began working extensively with Flutter, which provided a semi-native experience that perfectly blended performance with development efficiency. My work as a Technical Architect at Logmate, a New Zealand-based startup, allowed me to leverage Flutter alongside Firebase to build innovative digital logbook solutions for ridesharing companies. This role cemented my expertise in full-stack development, as I also became proficient in Node.js and Firebase for backend services.

Alongside my work at Logmate, I delved deeper into the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, becoming a vocal advocate within the Firebase community. My freelance work, coupled with a growing portfolio of CI/CD-driven projects using GitHub Actions, allowed me to refine my development pipeline and embrace test-driven development (TDD) methodologies. I’ve enjoyed contributing to a diverse range of projects, including MapPin and Portal, while continuing to explore the endless possibilities of combining Flutter, Firebase, and GCP.

This journey from native to hybrid, and finally to Flutter-based full-stack development, has been driven by a passion for innovation, remote work, and building scalable, impactful solutions. My experience now spans the full lifecycle of mobile and web applications, from architecture to deployment, always with an eye on cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices.

Native Development

My journey into mobile development began with Celum, where I built the first mobile version of their digital asset management service using Objective-C. This was my introduction to the iOS ecosystem, where I mastered Apple’s development tools and native technologies. I continued to refine these skills with projects like Turn Over Rent Calculator, which allowed me to dive deeper into the iOS architecture. These early experiences laid the foundation for my passion for mobile development.

After moving to the UK, I worked at Touch Soft on a variety of projects, including the Art Futures Gallery app—a specialized platform for fine art collectors. My responsibilities spanned from UI design to complex backend integration, helping the platform serve a niche market of high-value artwork transactions. Soon after, I relocated to Malta and took up a role at DNX Corp, where I expanded my scope to include Android development alongside iOS, building dating apps on both platforms. This period was marked by significant growth in my understanding of cross-platform challenges and opportunities within native mobile ecosystems.

As my career evolved, I recognized the growing importance of hybrid app development, especially as the need for remote work grew in importance for both my personal life and career aspirations. I joined Idox Health (formerly 6PM Solutions), where I worked on myEmCare, a platform supporting elderly care homes. This marked my first foray into hybrid development, using Ionic and AngularJS to create applications that could work across both iOS and Android, which significantly sped up development cycles while maintaining performance and quality.

During this period, I also contributed to several side projects, such as Eatster, a meal delivery platform, while working with Titans.sk. However, my ultimate goal was to find a role that not only allowed me to work remotely but also aligned with my family values and career goals. This search led me to Bullrush Apps, a startup based in New Zealand, where I worked on building time-tracking solutions for freelancers and businesses. This experience allowed me to fully embrace the remote work lifestyle, and I eventually relocated to New Zealand with my family to further pursue this dream.
